Day (United States of America)The Surgical Coordinator is a critical position that has a major impact on direct patient care and the financial success of the practice and organization.
This position entails coordinating patient care and all surgical scheduling functions for a busy Spine surgery practice at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
Responsible for negotiating, and coordinating Worker's Compensation claims and IME coordination.
Candidate should possess good computer & communication skills.
The candidate schedules surgeries and works with various departments within the hospital.
Collaborates with our OR scheduling team, Pre-Screening Unit, Medical Records, and a variety of specialties.
Provides patients with preoperative teaching materials, for surgeries done on the Main Campus, NEBOC, and other ASC locations as needed.
Works with payors and case managers for Workers Compensation cases in negotiating, obtaining fee agreements, and coordinating and facilitating all matters relating to IME's.
Functions in the physician's office to ensure the efficient management of the daily surgical schedule and worker's compensation cases.
